Stop Bookmarking Your Favorite Sites!
If you still set bookmarks for your favorite web sites, and visit them every couple days to check for updates, STOP! There is an easier way. In the video above I show how you can use RSS (Really Simple Syndication) to follow your favorite websites. We’ll use Google Reader to bring new updates into one location, as they happen.
As you watch this, take some notes in the comment box below. When you’re finished, click submit to have your questions answered.
As mentioned in the video, here’s the link to ProBlogger’s What Is RSS page.
UPDATE: Gmail or Google Account?
A friend of mine asked a question after watching the video. (Did I mention you can leave comments?) There’s a small difference between creating a Gmail account and a Google account. The first gives you an email address and full Gmail capabilities. (Do it! It’s worth it!)
Or, if you simply click ‘Create Account’ on the Google Reader page, you enter your current email address and a password. This lets you use Google apps, but doesn’t set up Gmail access. Either a Gmail or Google account will work. They’re nearly the same thing.
